Audience of East Java Bulog and East Java Province BPS

Surabaya, September 30, 2024 – Head of the East Java Regional Office of Perum BULOG, Awaludin Iqbal, held an audience with the Head of the East Java BPS, Zulkipli, at the East Java BPS office. This meeting discussed various strategic issues, one of which was inflation and the important role of commodities in the food, beverage, and tobacco group, especially rice.

In the discussion, Awaludin Iqbal and Zulkipli exchanged views regarding the influence of food prices on the inflation rate in East Java. The main focus of the discussion was rice, which is known to have a large role in determining inflation rates in the region. BULOG, as an institution tasked with maintaining food price stability, conveyed their strategy and active role in controlling rice prices on the market.

Zulkipli emphasized the importance of collaboration between BPS and BULOG in monitoring and analyzing data related to inflation. Statistical data produced by BPS is the basis for BULOG in formulating policies to control food prices and distribution.

This audience reflects the commitment of both institutions to ensure the stability of food commodity prices, especially rice, in order to maintain people's purchasing power and food security in East Java.
