Abstract

Production of paddy in 2008 (Fixed Rate) reached 10.47 million tons of dry milled rice (GKG) or increased by 1.07 million tons (11.41 percent), compared to rice production in 2007 of 9.40 million tons. The increase was due to the increase of harvested area by 38.83 thousand hectares (2.24 percent) and productivity increase of 4.86 quintal / hectare (8.97 percent).

Jawa Timur corn production in 2008 (Fixed Rate) experienced an increase of 800.93 thousand tons of dry pipeline (18.84 percent) from production in 2007. The increase in production occurred due to an increase in harvested area of 82.44 thousand hectares (7.15 percent) and an increase in corn productivity of 4.02 quintals / hectares (10.91 percent).

Jawa Timur soybean production in 2008 (Fixed Rate) of 277.28 thousand tons of dry beans, more production than in the previous year which amounted to 252.03 thousand tons or increased by 25.25 thousand tons (10.02 percent). The increase in soybean production in 2008 was supported by increases in harvested area and productivity during 2008.
