• The export value of East Java in December 2020 reached USD 1.78 billion, an increase of 10.58 percent compared to November 2020. This value compared to December 2019 increased by 3.28 percent.
• Non-oil and gas exports in December 2020 reached USD 1.52 billion, an increase of 5.97 percent compared to November 2020. This value compared to December 2019 decreased by 7.80 percent.
• Oil and gas exports in December 2020 reached USD 257.06 million, an increase of 49.06 percent compared to November 2020. This value increased by 260.07 percent when compared to December 2019.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas export goods in December 2020 were Animal / Vegetable Fats & Oils (HS 15) with a value of USD 170.80 million, followed by Timber and timber products (HS 44) with a value of USD 132.58 million, and Fish and Shrimp ( HS 03) with a value of USD 95.19 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - December 2020, exports out of East Java amounted to USD 19.22 billion or decreased by 5.29 percent compared to January - December 2019.
• The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in January - December 2020 was Japan reaching USD 2.81 billion (with a role of 15.38 percent) followed by exports to China amounting to USD 2.72 billion (with a role of 14.88 percent) and to the United States of America amounting to USD 2.53 billion (with a role of 13.86 percent). Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 3.43 billion (with a contribution of 18.76 percent), while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union amounted to USD 1.43 billion (with a contribution of 7.81 percent).
• The Import Value of East Java in December 2020 reached USD 2.03 billion, an increase of 13.80 percent compared to November 2020. This figure actually decreased by 0.80 percent compared to December 2019.
• Non-oil and gas imports in December 2020 reached USD 1.72 billion, an increase of 14.21 percent compared to November 2020. The value of non-oil and gas imports increased by 8.07 percent compared to December 2019.
• Oil and gas imports in December 2020 amounted to USD 310.06 million, an increase of 11.54 percent compared to November 2020. Compared to December 2019, this value actually decreased by 31.83 percent.
• The main non-oil and gas import goods category in December 2020 was the Machinery / Mechanical Aircraft (HS 84) goods group amounting to USD 179.37 million, the next for the Fruit goods group (HS 08) valued at USD 144.17 million and the Iron and Steel (HS 72) amounting to USD 143.26 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - December 2020, imports entering East Java amounted to USD 19.99 billion or decreased by 14.36 percent compared to January - December 2019, which was USD 23.34 billion
• The country of origin of the largest non-oil and gas imports during January - December 2020 from China amounted to USD 4.98 billion (29.61 percent), followed by the United States at USD 1.27 billion (7.56 percent) and imports from Thailand amounting to USD 750 , 13 million (4.46 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of countries amounted to USD 2.28 billion (13.58 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 1.36 billion (8.11 percent).
