• The export value of East Java in August 2021 reached USD 1.98 billion or an increase of 16.96 percent compared to July 2021. This value compared to August 2020 actually increased by 37.97 percent.
• Non-oil and gas exports in August 2021 reached USD 1.93 billion, an increase of 18.18 percent compared to July 2021. This value compared to August 2020 increased by 40.56 percent.
• Oil and gas exports in August 2021 reached USD 55.90 million or decreased by 13.57 percent compared to July 2021. This value decreased by 15.54 percent compared to August 2020.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas exports in August 2021 are Animal/vegetable Fats and Oils (HS 15) with a value of USD 241.89 million, followed by Copper (HS 74) with a value of USD 186.48 million, and Wood and wood products ( HS 44) with a value of USD 151.30 million.
• Cumulatively, during January - August 2021, exports out of East Java amounted to USD 14.59 billion, an increase of 15.32 percent compared to January - August 2020.
• The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in January - August 2021 was the United States which reached USD 2.16 billion (with a role of 16.00 percent) followed by exports to Japan amounting to USD 2.06 billion (with a role of 15.31 percent) and to China of USD 1.83 billion (with a role of 13.61 percent). Non-oil and gas exports to the ASEAN region reached USD 2.39 billion (with a contribution of 17.74 percent), while non-oil and gas exports to the European Union amounted to USD 1.16 billion (with a contribution of 8.63 percent).
• The value of East Java's imports in August 2021 reached USD 2.34 billion, an increase of 9.94 percent compared to July 2021. This figure increased by 48.82 percent compared to August 2020.
• Non-oil and gas imports in August 2021 reached USD 1.85 billion, an increase of 10.00 percent compared to July 2021. The value of non-oil and gas imports increased by 37.04 percent compared to August 2020.
• Oil and gas imports in August 2021 amounted to USD 496.44 million, an increase of 9.73 percent compared to July 2021. Compared to August 2020, this value also increased by 118.75 percent.
• The main categories of non-oil and gas imports in August 2021 are the wheat (HS 10) category of USD 160.72 million, followed by the iron and steel (HS 72) category of USD 148.71 million and the mechanical machinery/aircraft category ( HS 84) amounting to USD 141.92 Million.
• Cumulatively, during January - August 2021, imports into East Java amounted to USD 17.20 billion, an increase of 32.52 percent compared to January - August 2020, which was USD 12.98 billion.
• The country of origin of the largest non-oil and gas imports during January - August 2021 from China amounted to USD 3.88 billion (28.64 percent), followed by the United States at USD 1.02 billion (7.56 percent) and imports from Hong Kong amounted to USD 670 .72 million (4.95 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from the ASEAN group of countries amounted to USD 1.75 billion (12.91 percent), while non-oil and gas imports from the European Union reached USD 866.53 million (6.39 percent).
