May 2022 East Java Inflation of 0.49 percent

Abstract

Of the eight CPI cities in East Java, all of them experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sumenep Regency at 1.10 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Kediri City at 0.08 percent.

Inflation occurred due to a general increase in prices, as indicated by the increase in most indexes of the expenditure group. Of the eleven expenditure groups, all experienced inflation. The expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was the transportation group at 0.94 percent, followed by the food, beverage and tobacco group at 0.84 percent, the food and beverage/restaurant supply group at 0.62 percent, the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group. by 0.44 percent, personal care and other services group by 0.40 percent, health group by 0.28 percent, recreation, sports and culture group by 0.27 percent, clothing and footwear group by 0.22 percent, housing, water, electricity and materials groups

household fuel by 0.16 percent, the information, communication, and services group by 0.09 percent, and the education group by 0.01 percent.

The inflation rate for the calendar year in May 2022 was 2.79 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (May 2022 to May 2021) was recorded at 4.24 percent.
