June 2022 East Java Inflation of 0.52 percent

Abstract

Of the eight CPI cities in East Java, all of them experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kediri City at 0.78 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Sumenep Regency at 0.45 percent.

Inflation occurred due to a general increase in prices, as indicated by the increase in most indexes of the expenditure group. Of the eleven expenditure groups, nine groups experienced inflation, one group experienced deflation and the other group did not change. The expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was the provision of food and beverages/restaurants at 1.25 percent, followed by the food, beverage and tobacco group at 1.05 percent, the health group and the clothing and footwear group each at 0.61 percent, the personal care and other services by 0.41 percent, household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.35 percent, housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.28 percent, recreation, sports, and household groups culture by 0.13 percent, and transportation group by 0.07 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and services group experienced a deflation of 0.13 percent, while the group that did not experience any change was the education group.

The inflation rate for the calendar year in June 2022 was 3.32 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2022 to June 2021) was recorded at 4.92 percent.
