  • East Java's trade balance in August 2023 experienced a deficit of USD 651.68 million. This is caused by a trade value deficit in both the non-oil and gas sectors. The trade deficit in the oil and gas sector reached USD 374.81 million. Meanwhile, the nominal trade deficit in the non-oil and gas sector was USD 276.87 million. This condition makes it necessary for the oil and gas and non-oil and gas sectors to improve performance so that East Java's trade balance can turn into a surplus.
