Abstract

  • The export value of East Java Province in December 2023 was worth USD 2.16 billion or an increase of 2.52 percent compared to November 2023. This value when compared to December 2022 also increased by 10.60 percent.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in December 2023 reached USD 2.15 billion or an increase of 6.50 percent compared to November 2023. This value compared to December 2022 increased by 15.77 percent.
  • Meanwhile, oil and gas exports in December 2023 reached USD 16.79 million or decreased by 82.24 percent compared to November 2023. This value also decreased by 83.52 percent compared to December 2022.
  • The import value of East Java Province in December 2023 will reach USD 2.65 billion or decreased by 1.71 percent compared to November 2023. Value compared to December 2022, there has actually been an increase of 2.42 percent.
  • Non-oil and gas imports in December 2023 reached USD 1.95 billion or almost no change compared to November 2023. This value, compared to December 2022, decreased by 7.92 percent.
  • Oil and gas imports in December 2023 reached USD 700.87 million or decreased by 6.17 percent compared to November 2023. This value actually increased by 49.03 percent compared to December 2022.
  • East Java's trade balance during December 2023 again experienced a deficit of USD 489.14 million. This is caused by a trade deficit in the oil and gas sector which is higher than the surplus in the non-oil and gas sector. The trade deficit in the oil and gas sector reached USD 684.08 million. Meanwhile, the nominal trade surplus in the non-oil and gas sector was USD 194.94 million. This condition means that the oil and gas and non-oil and gas sectors need to improve their performance so that East Java's trade balance can turn into a surplus.
