East Java's economy in the second quarter of 2024 grew 2.87 percent (Q-to-Q) and 4.98 percent (Y-on-Y)

Abstract

East Java's economy grew in Quarter II-2024 as measured by

Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices reached

IDR 793.02 trillion, while GRDP based on constant prices in 2010 reached

IDR 484.11 trillion. East Java's economy in Quarter II-2024 to Quarter I-2024 experienced growth of 2.87 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields which grew by 27.90 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Component which grew by 19.31 percent. East Java's economy in Quarter II-2024 compared to Quarter II-2023 increased by 4.98 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Electricity and Gas Procurement Business Field which grew by 12.69 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Consumption Expenditure Component of Nonprofit Institutions Serving Households (PK-LNPRT) which grew by 12.01 percent. Structurally, the Processing Industry Business Field dominates East Java's economic structure in Quarter II-2024 with a contribution of 30.13 percent, while in terms of expenditure it is dominated by the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT) with a contribution of 61.35 percent.
