October 2024 Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in Jawa Timur Province was 1.66 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Sumenep at 2.30 percent

Abstract

In October 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Jawa Timur Province of 1.66 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.37. The highest inflation of 2.30 percent occurred in Sumenep with a CPI of 108.97 and the lowest inflation occurred in Kediri City of 0.91 percent with a CPI of 105.54.
The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 2.38 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.68 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.47 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.60 percent; health group by 1.87 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.43 percent; education group by 1.54 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.24 percent; and personal care and other services groups by 7.04 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: the transportation group and the information, communication, and financial services group, each by 0.30 percent
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in East Java Province in October 2024 were 0.15 percent and 0.81 percent, respectively
