May 2025 Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in Jawa Timur Province was 1.22 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Tulungagung Regency at 1.84 percent.

In May 2025, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in East Java Province of 1.22 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.06. The highest inflation occurred in Tulungagung Regency at 1.84 percent with a CPI of 109.19 and the lowest inflation occurred in Gresik Regency at 0.60 percent with a CPI of 106.23. Inflation y-on-y occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: clothing and footwear group by 0.96 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 1.30 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.45 percent; health group by 1.98 percent; transportation group by 0.19 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.46 percent; education group by 1.45 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.88 percent; and personal care and other services groups by 9.53 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index were: the food, beverage, and tobacco group by 0.08 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.58 percent. The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate in East Java Province in May 2025 was 0.34 percent while the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in East Java Province in May 2025 was 0.89 percent.
