Female Workforce Profile Jawa Timur Province 2021

One of the main goals of development is to achieve equality between men and women in all fields. Indicators that can be used to measure development achievements in terms of equality between men and women are the Gender Development Index (IPG) and Gender Empowerment Index (IDG). In general, the GPI shows indications of inequality in terms of development achievements between men and women. From year to year, the gap is decreasing. In addition, participation in development continues to improve as indicated by the IDG score. IDG is heavily influenced by the role of female workers in terms of their empowerment and involvement from an economic standpoint, for example how are the roles of women as managers, professionals, administration, and technicians and how much do women contribute to the income from their work. In order to provide an overview of the characteristics of the female workforce in East Java, the publication "Profile of the Female Workforce in East Java 2021" was compiled. The data presented in this publication include the characteristics of employment, education level, main employment and main employment status, as well as the characteristics of the unemployed female workforce in East Java. This year's publication presents data for 2021, to maintain data comparability, the presentation of the 2019-2021 data series uses population projections from the 2015 SUPAS results. The data source used is the results of the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas).
