Profile of the Female Labor Force Jawa Timur

One of the main goals of development is to achieve equality between men and women in all fields. Indicators that can be used to measure development achievements in terms of equality between men and women are the Gender Development Index (GDI) and the Gender Empowerment Index (IDG). In general, the GDI shows indications of inequality in terms of development achievements between men and women. From year to year, the gap in inequality has decreased. In addition, participation in development has also continued to improve as indicated by the IDG value. IDG is greatly influenced by the role of female workers in terms of their empowerment and involvement from an economic perspective, for example, how women play a role as managers, professionals, administrators, and technicians and how much women contribute to income from their work. In order to provide an overview of the characteristics of the female workforce in East Java, the publication "Profile of the Female Workforce in East Java 2022" was compiled. The data presented in this publication include employment characteristics, education level, main field of employment, and main employment status, as well as the characteristics of unemployment among female workers in East Java. This year's publication presents data for 2021, 2022 and 2023. The data source used is the results of the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas).
