Jawa Timur Province Rice Data Analysis 2023-2025

Rice is a staple food commodity for the population, and its stability in terms of both production and prices needs to be maintained. Changes in rice production and prices have a significant impact on population consumption and can have wide-ranging effects. For example, unstable rice prices have been one of the factors contributing to inflation in East Java. Meanwhile, the decline in agricultural land due to land-use conversion, along with the economic transformation from an agrarian-based economy to a non-agrarian one, has contributed to a decline in rice production. On the other hand, rice sufficiency is also highly dependent on population size. As the population increases, the demand for rice consumption also rises. To date, East Java still imports rice to ensure the availability of rice to meet regional needs. This publication provides a brief overview of rice conditions in East Java. The data presented cover rice harvested area, rice production, rice equivalent production, prices, as well as rice exports and imports. The information is presented in the form of reviews, graphs, and tables, with data detailed by year for the period 2023–2025.
