Internship Provision Improves Statistical Understanding for Young Generation

BPS East Java held a series of briefings for student interns which took place on 4-7 February 2025. Students who participated in this program came from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) and the Sunan Ampel State Islamic University (UINSA) Surabaya.

This briefing aims to provide in-depth insight into various products and data managed by BPS. The students received material from BPS East Java subject matter regarding various aspects of statistics, including Education Statistics, Agricultural Statistics, Social Statistics, Inflation, and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). In addition, they were also introduced to micro data available at BPS and its use in various analyses.

This activity is expected to provide students with a better understanding of the role of BPS in providing quality data and how the data is used to support policy formulation. With this program, BPS East Java also contributes to producing a young generation who are data literate and ready to play a role in the development of statistics in the future.
