East Java Farmer Exchange Rates (FER) in September 2019 rose 0.59 percent

Abstract

The East Java Farmer Exchange Rate (FER) in September 2019 rose 0.59 percent from 109.36 to 110.00. The increase in FERis due to the price index paid by farmers (PI) experiencing a greater decline compared to the price index received by farmers (RI).
In September 2019, three agricultural sub-sectors experienced an increase in FER, while the rest experienced a decline. The sub-sector that experienced the largest increase in FERoccurred in the Food Crop sub-sector by 2.89 percent from 112.03 to 115.27, followed by the Fisheries sub-sector by 1.72 percent from 113.69 to 115.64, and the Horticulture sub-sector by 0.30 percent from 101.70 to 102.00. While the sub-sector that experienced a decline in FER was the People's Plantation Plant sub-sector by 2.51 percent from 103.85 to 101.24, and the Livestock sub-sector by 0.60 percent from 114.04 to 113.35.
Of the five provinces in Java Island that did the FER calculation in September 2019, all provinces experienced an increase in FER. The largest increase in FER occurred in Banten Province by 1.55 percent, followed by Central Java Province by 0.98 percent, West Java Province by 0.71 percent, East Java Province by 0.59 percent, and Yogyakarta Special Province by 0.30 percent.
