The number of tourists to East Java through the Juanda entrance in April fell by 99.64 percent while the ROR for starred hotels dropped by 20.99 points

Abstract

• Foreign tourist arrivals (tourists) who came to East Java through the entrance of Juanda in April 2020 decreased by 99.64 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists visiting March 2020, from 5,774 visits to 21 visits.

• The number of foreign tourists visiting April 2020 decreased by 99.89 percent compared to the number of foreign tourists in the same period in 2019 which reached 18,431 visits.

• During the period January - April 2020, most tourists were Malaysians reaching 10,451 visits (with a contribution of 32.94 percent), followed by Singapore's nationality with 3,938 visits (with a contribution of 11.08 percent), and Chinese nationality of 2,288 visits (with contribution of 9.75 percent).

• Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of starred hotels in East Java in April 2020 reached 15.82 percent, down 20.99 points compared to the previous month. The ROR for 2-star hotels (two) by 20.61 percent is the highest ROR compared to ROR for other starred hotels.
