The Gini Ratio in March 2022 was recorded at 0.371

Abstract

In March 2022, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of East Java as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.371. This figure increased by 0.007 points compared to the September 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.364 and decreased by 0.003 points compared to the March 2021 Gini Ratio of 0.374.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.388, up from the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.379 and also increased compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.387.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2022 was recorded at 0.323, up from the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.319 and down compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.324.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of spending in the bottom 40 percent is 18.73 percent. This means that the population's expenditure in March 2022 is in the category of low inequality level. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 18.00 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 20.76 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality.
