October 2022 Inflation Year on Year (yoy) combined eight cities East Java by 6.65 percent

Abstract

In October 2022, year on year (yoy) inflation was 6.65 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.21. The highest yoy inflation occurred in Jember at 7.23 percent with a CPI of 114.08 and the lowest occurred in Probolinggo at 5.43 percent with a CPI of 111.03.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most indexes of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.31 percent; clothing and footwear group by 3.31 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 2.38 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 5.33 percent; health group by 3.64 percent; transportation group by 17.14 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 2.15 percent; education group by 4.96 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 9.60 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 6.30 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.14 percent.
The month-to-month (mtm) inflation rate in October 2022 was 0.04 percent and the year-to-date (ytd) inflation rate for October 2022 was 5.55 percent. The yoy inflation rate for the energy component in October 2022 was 18.13 percent, mtm inflation was 0.42 percent, and ytd inflation was 18.13 percent.
The inflation rate for the food component yoy in October 2022 was 7.13 percent, mtm inflation was -0.76 percent, and ytd inflation was 3.34 percent.
