East Java Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) in October 2022 decreased by 0.39 percent

Abstract

  • Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • The East Java Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) in October 2022 fell 0.39 percent from 103.98 to 103.57. The decrease in NTP was due to the price index received by farmers (It) which fell by 0.52 percent, higher than the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which fell by 0.12 percent.

  • The largest NTP occurred in the Horticulture sub-sector at 4.81 percent from 115.51 to 109.95, followed by the Livestock sub-sector at 1.10 percent from 102.13 to 101.01 and the Fisheries sub-sector at 0.01 percent from 102.15 to 102. ,15. Meanwhile, the sub-sector that experienced the largest increase in FTT occurred in the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.82 percent from 102.73 to 103.57, followed by the People's Plantation Plant sub-sector by 0.03 percent from 102.91 to 102.94.
  • Of the five provinces on the island of Java that carried out the calculation of NTP in October 2022, two provinces experienced a decrease in NTP and three provinces experienced an increase. The largest decrease in NTP occurred in East Java Province by 0.39 percent, followed by Central Java by 0.29 percent. Meanwhile, the largest increase occurred in Banten Province by 0.40 percent, followed by West Java by 0.37 percent and the Special Region of Yogyakarta by 0.32 percent.
