In February 2025, Jawa Timur Province experienced year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation of 0.03 percent.

In February 2025 there was year on year (y-on-y) deflation in East Java Province of 0.03 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.90. The deepest deflation occurred in the City of Kediri at 0.98 percent with a CPI of 104.50 and the lowest deflation occurred in the City of Surabaya at 0.07 percent with a CPI of 105.78 percent. Meanwhile, the highest inflation occurred in Banyuwangi at 0.94 percent with a CPI of 107.02 and the lowest inflation occurred in Jember at 0.14 percent with a CPI of 105.85. Y-on-y deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by the expenditure group index, namely: housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 15.41 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.23 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced an increase in the index were: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.76 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.26 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.64 percent; health group by 1.70 percent; transportation group by 1.21 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.39 percent; education group at 1.49 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.16 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 8.66 percent. The month to month (m-to-m) and year to date (y-to-d) deflation rates for East Java Province in February 2025 were 0.59 percent and 1.13 percent respectively.
