Ageing Population Profile in Jawa Timur Province 2014

One of the successful development of the health sector of a region can be seen from the higher life expectancy of the population. Increased life expectancy is reflected in the increasing number of people who are classified as elderly or known as the elderly. The elderly population in Jawa Timur in 2014 has reached 10.96 percent, thereby indicating that the population structure of Jawa Timur is classified as the old population. The elderly population has different socioeconomic characteristics compared to the young population, so it needs special attention for policy makers so that the development direction can be of maximum benefit to the elderly.
