Executive Summary of Paddy Harvested Area and Production in Jawa Timur 2022

Integrated Food Crop Agricultural Statistics Data Collection using the Area Sample Frame Method (KSA) is an activity resulting from collaboration between the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN) which has now merged into the Research and Development Agency. National Innovation (BRIN), Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR/BPN), and Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). This activity began to be implemented nationally in 2018 and is included in a national project to support the achievement of one of the national priorities, namely food security, in the context of improving food statistical data. The main objective of this activity is to obtain an objective, scientific and modern method for collecting rice harvest area data by involving the role of the latest technology, so that agricultural data, especially rice production data, is collected more accurately, quickly and on time. The Executive Summary of Harvested Area and Rice Production in East Java 2022 presents brief information regarding the results of the 2022 Rice KSA data collection. In addition, this executive summary also presents temporary figures for the harvested area and rice production for the period January–April 2023 based on the January 2023 Rice KSA data collection. Hopefully this report can provides an overview of data on harvested area and rice production in accordance with field conditions. We hope that the rice statistical data obtained through the KSA method can provide great benefits for the Indonesian people, especially as a basis for policy making so that food security can be realized through rice self-sufficiency.
