Executive Summary of Harvested Area and Rice Production in Jawa Timur 2024

East Java is one of the food barns in Indonesia and plays an important role in national food availability. To maintain this sustainability, a mature strategy, policy and planning are needed so that quality supporting data is needed. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) collects monthly data on rice harvest area through the Area Sample Framework Survey (KSA) which is a collaborative activity between BPS and the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) and the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) which is now merged into the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR/BPN), and the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). Meanwhile, productivity data which is a multiplier of the harvest area to produce rice production data is obtained through the Ubinan Survey. Executive Summary of Harvested Area and Rice Production in East Java Province 2023(Fixed Figures) presents concise information on the figures for harvested area and rice and rice production for the period January–December 2022 and 2023, and the potential figures for January–April 2024. Hopefully this report can provide an overview of the data on harvested area and rice production that are in accordance with field conditions. We hope that the rice statistics data obtained through the KSA and Ubinan methods can provide great benefits for the Indonesian nation, especially as a basis for policy making so that food security can be realized through rice self-sufficiency
