Abstract

This publication is part of the efforts of the BPS of East Java Province in order to outline the problem of the welfare of the population of East Java Province by representing it in a scale of the Human Development Index.Please note that this publication presents the new method HDI figures. In calculating the HDI in the new method, several changes and adjustments have been made to the HDI, both the indicators used and the calculation technique. So it is hoped that the HDI figure of this new method is more valid and relevant in measuring human development achievements.
