Human Development Index of Jawa Timur Province 2024

Indeks Pembangunan Manusia Provinsi Jawa Timur Tahun 2024 (Human Development Index (HDI) of Jawa Timur Province 2024) publication presents the achievements of human development at both the provincial and district/city levels, by measuring three key dimensions: longevity, knowledge, and a decent standard of living.Over the past five years, Jawa Timur’s HDI has shown a consistent upward trend. Not only has the index value continued to improve, but its annual growth rate has also accelerated from year to year. This achievement reflects a progressively positive direction in human development.The acceleration has been mainly driven by improvements in the dimension of a decent standard of living, as indicated by the increase in adjusted per capita real expenditure. In addition, the dimensions of longevity and healthy life as well as knowledge also recorded progress compared to the previous year, signaling an overall enhancement in the quality of life of the people of Jawa Timur. The data used in this publication are derived from the National Socioeconomic Survey (SUSENAS) and administrative records from various relevant institutions. It is expected that this information will serve as a valuable reference for stakeholders in formulating more targeted and sustainable development policies in Jawa Timur Province.
