Executive Summary of Paddy Harvested Area and Production in Jawa Timur 2023 (Final Figures)

Food crop statistics have a strategic role in the agricultural sector, which is used by the government as consideration to determine the direction of development policy in Indonesia, especially related to food supply. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) collects rice harvest area data every month through the Area Sample Frame Survey (KSA) which is an activity resulting from collaboration between BPS and the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) and the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN) which have now merged into National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR/BPN), and Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). Meanwhile, productivity data, which is a multiplier of harvest area to produce rice production data, was obtained through the Ubinan Survey.The Executive Summary of Harvested Area and Rice Production in Jawa Timur 2023 (Fixed Figures) provides concise information regarding the harvested area and rice and rice production figures for the period January–December 2022 and 2023, and the potential figures for January–April 2024. Hopefully this report can provide an overview regarding data on harvested area and rice production in accordance with field conditions. We hope that the rice statistical data obtained through the KSA and Ubinan methods can provide great benefits for the Indonesian people, especially as a basis for policy making so that food security can be realized through rice self-sufficiency.
