FGD on Compiling Government Finance Statistics

On September 26, 2024, BPS of East Java Province participated in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Compilation of Government Finance Statistics organized by the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPB) of the East Java Regional Office. This event aims to align understanding and improve the quality of the compilation of government financial statistics at the East Java Province level.

Nurul Andriana, an Expert Statistician at BPS of East Java Province, was present as a resource person in the FGD. She explained the important role of Government Finance Statistics in the preparation of more accurate and data-based public policies. In addition, Nurul also explained how BPS plays a role in collecting relevant data, as well as the importance of synergy between related agencies to create higher quality financial statistics.

In the interactive discussion, the participants consisting of representatives of regional government agencies and related stakeholders actively discussed the challenges faced in the preparation of the GFS. Through the implementation of this FGD, it is hoped that the quality of the preparation of Government Finance Statistics in the East Java Province area will increase, supporting transparency and accountability of regional government finances.
