Abstract

The increase in the number of elderly people or known as the elderly is one indication of the success of health development. The increase in the elderly population goes hand in hand with the increasing life expectancy of its population. From the results of the 2024 Population Projection, it is known that the elderly population in East Java in 2024 has reached 14.91 percent, which indicates that the population structure of East Java is classified as an elderly population. This of course has consequences in the form of potential and challenges in development in East Java Province. The elderly population has a different socio-economic character compared to the young population, so it requires special attention from policy makers so that the direction of development can also provide maximum benefits for the elderly population.
